Use the Toolbar or the Edit menu to bring up a dialog box for configuring the status messages of your exam. |
This screen is where you determine "Status Label" settings and decide what messages (if any) to display in response to these events: Question Score, Exam Scored, Question Feedback Displayed, Answers Shown, Question Answered, Question Reset, Question Locked, Time Limit Reached, and Max Tries Reached. Look at the screen below as well as the table of elements to learn more.

Show Status Messages Label |
Check to show the status label. If this box is not checked, then the other settings in this dialog are not used. |

CSS Class (Status Label) |
The Cascading Style Sheet class for the status label. Only change this if you are adding that class to the 'External Style Sheet' designated on the General Tab. If you are using 'Dynamic Styles,' keep the default 'CSS Class' setting. You may edit these dynamic styles with the Styles Editor. |

Border Style (Status Label) |
The border style for the status label. The choices are NotSet, None, Dotted, Dashed, Solid, Double, Groove, Ridge, Inset, and Outset. |

'Question Scored' Status Message |
The text to display every time a question is scored. Leave blank to not display a message. Right-click to display the list of available data elements. See Inserting Message Data Elements for more details. |

'Exam Scored' Status Message |
The text to display on the scoring page when the exam is scored. Leave blank to not display a message. Right-click to display the list of available data elements. See Inserting Message Data Elements for more details. |

'Question Feedback Displayed' Status Message |
The text to display every time a question displays feedback. Leave blank to not display a message. Right-click to display the list of available data elements. See Inserting Message Data Elements for more details. |

'Answers Shown' Status Message |
The text to display when the user clicks the "Show Answers" button. Leave blank to not display a message. Right-click to display the list of available data elements. See Inserting Message Data Elements for more details. |

'Question Answered' Status Message |
The text to display every time a question is answered. The distinction between this and the "Question Scored" event is that the "Question Answered" event fires each time an answer is selected in the "multiple choice, multiple correct" question situation. In this case, the "Question Scored" event only fires when the user clicks the Score button. Leave blank to not display a message. Right-click to display the list of available data elements. 'Question Reset' Status Message |

'Question Locked' Status Message |
The text to display every time a question is locked. This would happen on either a time out situation or when the maximum number of tries have been reached.
