Once you have configured your exam (see Getting Started), use the Exam Engine Question Editor (Windows application) or the Exam Engine Editor (web-based application) to add, edit, and delete questions and objectives. You are then ready to transfer your exam to your web server. Follow these steps.

Have your web administrator create a virtual directory on your web server to hold the exam. For simplicity, we recommend that you use the same directory name and local virtual directory name as on your local machine. For exam, you might have Published your Exam to c:\exams\safetyTraining1 with a virtual directory name of safetyTraining1 (note that the virtual directory name does not have to match the local path name). On your local machine, you can view the exam with the URL: http://localhost/safetyTraining1/default.aspx. Now have your web administrator create a matching virtual directory on your web server named safetyTraining1. Again, the name does not have to match either the local directory name or the local virtual directory name. |
Make sure you know (or have assigned to you) a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) address, username, and password for copying the files to your web server. |
Use a program like WS_FTP from Ipswitch, Inc. to transfer the entire contents (including subdirectories) of your exam folder (c:\exams\safetyTraining1 in our example) to the matching location on your server. See screen capture below. |
Link to this new location from your Learning Management System and/or directly from your web site. For example, the exam in the capture below may be accessed at http://www.tbcon.com/examengine/default.aspx. |
